what exactly is different about rock band 2 other than just new songs?
I havent done much research on it but i like rockband 1 as a form of stress relief and get my mind off newgrounds.

Character Creation is a lot more detailed, and you don't have to make a new character for different instruments. You can keep going on one character for all instruments.
Online challenges, your band can post high scores online against other bands, for prizes ( i think )
List of songs show different difficulty for instruments, so you have an idea of how hard the song is when you start to play it.
Band Creation has more options such as ( Band Logos ) "fun to play around with"
So far the game looks really solid, and my friend bought a nice drum set to go with it. Woot!
